The focus of this working group is on waste management and its links to both environmental and safety matters, with the aim of clarifying and improving the efficiency of the existing regulatory framework and operating procedures in the waste management sector.

Using additional non-interventional data and records available at the RIH, the researchers were able to distinguish among 4999 unique patients who were community-acquired cases and 559 unique patients who had been transferred from another hospital.
To be sure, information is also needed about the size of the body of the patient, the initial symptoms and severity of illness, the source of infection, co-morbid conditions and the site of the infection.
• The community-acquired patient has infected the community rather than coming into contact with a physician, health-care worker or other health-care facility, and the infection is not work-related.
• The patient has not been hospitalized or has been discharged within the past year and is known to be free from any underlying illness or to be immune to the infection.
• The patient is known to have been infected by a known source case of MRSA and has not recently moved from the community, transferred from another health-care facility, been admitted to the hospital or visited the emergency room within the past 6 months.
• The initial symptoms and severity of illness have not progressed beyond the point of health-care facility admission, and the patient has not had a change in symptomatology or signs during the health-care facility stay.
• The patient has not been hospitalized or has been discharged within the past year and is known to be free from any underlying illness or to be immune to the infection.
• The patient is known to have been infected by a known source case of MRSA and has not recently moved from the community, transferred from another health-care facility, been admitted to the hospital or visited the emergency room within the past 6 months.
